The Community Programme in the surrounding Game Management Area serves to enhance conservation awareness amongst the community, to develop new sources of income and food as an alternative to poaching, and to support local initiatives in Community Based Natural Resources Management (CBNRM). The Kasanka Community Project has been implemented since 1997 under the supervision of the Community Relations Co-ordinator (CRC). Funds are presently available for a one year period to support the project with an option for continued funding up to three years.
